Jim Waters is president of the Bluegrass Institute. He’s one of Kentucky’s most influential voices advocating for economic, education, transparency, and labor reforms, including more educational alternatives for parents. Waters’ popular column, the Bluegrass Beacon, has appeared in newspapers and online publications across Kentucky for more than 17 years.
Waters is a frequent guest – and guest-host on talk-radio shows statewide. He’s also been a guest on national talk-radio programs. He’s also appeared on FOX News, CNN, Kentucky TV newscasts, and statewide public television forums.
His articles have been featured in the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. In demand as a speaker and panelist, Waters has shared platforms with federal and state lawmakers, including U.S. Sen. Rand Paul and Congressman Thomas Massie, and with high-profile media figures, including former Fox Business anchor John Stossel.
Waters is a member of the American Enterprise Institute Leadership Network and a Kentucky Colonel.
