Vicki E. Alger , author of "Failure: The Federal 'Misedukation' of America's Children," focuses on education reforms promoting competition and parental control. She has authored over 40 policy studies, co-authored "Lean Together" and "Short-Circuited," and served as associate producer for the documentary "Not as Good as You Think."
Alger has advised the U.S. Department of Education on school choice and policymakers in nearly 40 states and England on choice and reforms. Her research advanced Arizona's parental choice programs and the nation's first higher education voucher and supported legal defenses for scholarship programs, including a landmark U.S. Supreme Court case (Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization v. Winn).
Her work, cited in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Education Week, inspired record school choice legislation in California. Previously, she taught college courses in politics and literature and lectured at universities, including West Point. Alger holds a Ph.D. in political philosophy from the University of Dallas, where she was an Earhart Foundation Fellow.
