Joseph L. Verruni

Joseph Verruni is manager of operations for the Bluegrass Institute. Joseph has nearly two decades of experience improving how think tanks and governments talk and think about energy and environmental issues.

At the Cato Institute, Joseph spearheaded product rollouts and helped expand the marketing and communications office from four to thirteen staff members, all while preserving strict messaging consistency and staying true to libertarian principles. Earlier, he oversaw major publication projects, produced documentaries, and directed the Institute’s former Center for the Study of Science—home to its leading science and energy experts.

Prior to joining Cato, he provided communications support at the US Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, where he helped relaunch its Geothermal Technologies Program and wrote speeches for its senior leadership.
